The Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSI) was established in 1963 and sponsored by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The construction of the building, located at Reina Mercedes avenue, Seville, started in August 1965. One year later, September 1966, teaching activities began in the pavilion L-1.The School was officially open in April 1967. Over the school year 1997/1998, the School was moved to its current location at Isla de la Cartuja (former location of the Universal Exposition of Seville Expo '92).
